Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
That Travel Blog ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Social Impact Ltd. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.thattravelblog.com, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Social Impact Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08995296), registered office 12 Limedale Avenue, Oakwood, Derby, DE21 2UE. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@thattravelblog.com.
2. Information we collect
Automatically collected data
When you visit this site, standard server logs and analytics tools may record your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and time on site. We use this data only to understand traffic patterns and improve our content.
Information you provide
If you contact us via email or a contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry, and we never add you to the newsletter on the strength of an enquiry. Joining the newsletter is always a separate, deliberate step, described below.
Newsletter signup
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address, the date and time you subscribed, and which page you subscribed from. We do not require your name, and we do not store your IP address.
Legal basis: consent. You give it by ticking the unticked consent box on the signup form, which is a required, separate step. We keep a record of when you consented and the wording you agreed to, so that we can demonstrate consent as required by UK GDPR.
What we send: roughly one email a month covering travel, places worth knowing about, any new guides we have published, and occasional recommendations or offers, which may include affiliate links. We will not sell or rent your email address, and we will not send you unrelated third-party advertising.
Withdrawing consent: every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at any time. Unsubscribing is immediate and permanent, and we do not require a reason. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything we sent beforehand.
Who processes it: our newsletter is sent using Brevo, who act as our data processor and store subscriber data on servers within the European Union. Brevo process your data only on our instructions.
How long we keep it: for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we retain a minimal suppression record (your email address only) so that we can honour your opt-out and avoid contacting you again by mistake. If you would prefer we erase that too, contact us and we will.
